More About Rachel
Rachel Stahl Salzman is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), passionate about nutrition, health and happiness. She specializes in medical nutrition therapy for conditions such as prediabetes, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, renal disease and PCOS and has extensive experience working with patients with diabetes using continuous glucose monitors, smart insulin pens and insulin pumps. Rachel individualizes each client's plan to create sustainable, long-term lifestyle changes. A recognized nutrition and diabetes expert, Rachel is a speaker at national conferences and featured in numerous print and online resources including US News, Runner's World, Prevention, and Weight Watchers. She is the co-author of an article on diabetes apps in the peer-reviewed journal, Diabetes Spectrum.
Rachel is an active member of the nutrition and diabetes professional communities. Rachel currently serves as Technology Chair for the Diabetes Dietetic Practice Group and President-Elect of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES) New York City Chapter. She is Past-President of the Greater New York Dietetic Association (GNYDA) and Past-Public Relations Coordinator for the New York State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (NYSAND). Rachel is a proud recipient of the Rising Star Award through ADCES, Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year award through NYSAND and the Samuel Eshborn Award from New York University for outstanding leadership and service.
Rachel earned her Bachelors of Arts from Colgate University graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, received her Master's of Science Degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University and completed her Dietetic Internship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, mastering a new recipe, and biking.
